This is me & the Grand Final

Hello hello!

Yes, we have finally gotten to the Grand Final of the Supreme Scrap Tournament.
In my previous post I said that the Final is consisted of 2 phases.

Phase 1 is already described there.

So here I am today with my layout for Phase 2.
Before you see it, let's take a look at what we were asked to do.

Layout size:
two pages of 30,4cm x 30,4 cm
Theme:
This is me!
Number of photo’s:
Minimum of 4 differents photos in total
You must use:
* Title: This is me!
* All the objects that you choose in step 1 must be used on the project, no other embellishments are allowed!
* All the sheets that you choose in step 1 must be used on the project, no other paper is allowed!
(at least half of each sheet you choose needs to be used by you!)

You may use:* White gesso only, as long (part of) the objects and paper are visible
* All techniques that you like (but no ink and paints and so on!)
* Selfmade embellishments made out of your objects and/or papers* A pen or marker for a journaling (max 20 words) - you dont have to do a journaling!
* glue, 3d tape, gluedots

You can not use:* No other embellishments then the ones you choose in step 1
* No other papers then the ones you choose in step 1
* No ink, paint and so on
* No stickers, thickers, rubonons
* No glitter glue and so on

BANG! No inks and paints again. No other embellishments. No favourite techniques. Just trash and some gesso.  Yep, another tough one.

Anyway, after having completed all the previous challenges, I couldn't leave without trying at least.  So I used ALL THE TRASH I collected and nothing else.  Since we were not allowed to use inks and paints, I had to think of something to do with my paper stuff.  So I pulled out my favourite punches and embellished the edges of my papers by punching them!

This is my page
(I chose photos from Pinterest, since in the Hide&Seek challenge, I had already used photos of myself
- it would be just boring to repeat this)

and now this is a photo with the numbers of the items I used
(you can find their description below the photo)

1. An old Canadian postal tag
2. 2 pieces of gauze from gift wrapping
3. 2 pieces of old books (text and music)
4. packagine string
5. some dried starfish (that my kids had collected from the sea shore)
6. dark brown thread
7. a couple of old tarnished earrings
8. a clothing price tag
9. a receipt
10. old fabric fibres
11. 2 wooden furniture pegs
12. a piece of a cardboard box
13. a boarding pass
14. a broken paintbrush

P1. White cardstock (half of it, the title and some die-cuts)
P2. 7 Dots Messy Head Collection - Love letter (the background papers)
P3. 7 Dots Messy Head Collection - News flash (half of it, under the cluster, punched)
P4. 7 Dots Messy Head Collection - Little Thoughts (half of it, some die-cuts)

This is it.
So I hope you like my page...

Thank you for following me through this Tournament, thank you for voting for me (whoever of you did), thank you for your support!

Hello!
The Grand Finale of the Supreme Scrap Tournament is up and running.

We don't know yet what we are supposed to make or how we will use these things, but we will find out soon...

My trashpack and my choice of papers

Take flight

My silly faces

Hello everyone!

Thanks to the Supreme Scrap Tournament people's votes (THANK YOU SO MUCH), I continued to Round 4.
And here I am today to share with you my page for the 4th Challenge.
Yes it was a difficult one for me.  Again.

You'll understand why, once you read what we were required and not required to do:

Layout:
double page layout
Size layout:
2 pages of 30,4 x 30,4 cm (12 x 12 inch)
Photos:
- eight or more
- no duplicate photo's
Theme:
free
Colour:
free

You must make:
-  Make hidden elements on your pages. Minimum of three
-  The hidden part of the elements should not be visible at first sight! It needs opening before we can see the hidden inside.
-  Size of the elements is free
-  Place of the elements on the pages is free
-  Type of the elements is free. The three hidden elements may be of the same type. But you can use 2, 3 or more different elements. Your choice.
-  Think of flaps that can open, elements that can turn, secret elements that you have to pull out of their hiding place.
-  It is ok if a pulling mechanism is visible. Such as a piece of paper, a fiber or ribbon, a brad used for turning a wheel.

Not to be used:
- All kinds of ink (including spray ink and misting ink)
- No paint of any sort
- No stamps
- No gesso
- No chalk

Materials, embellishments:
Free

When I read the "not to be used" section, I admit I was disheartened.
I LOVE mixed media, I love messing with gesso, inks, stamps, paints! They are a vital part of my style and.... this time I had to omit them!!!!  Wow that was a tough challenge!!!

Of course scraplifting or copying ideas was out of question... and again, I decided to try and do all I could WITHOUT my precioussssssss inks/mists/pastes/stamps. To cut a long story short, I made a page within my own style and close to my standards, but this time its theme is quite different.

The truth is that even though I didn't expect it, I had much fun when I created it! And I hope it will make you smile too!

Now a few things on my double page:
As you see, it features 8 different photos of myself. I chose a funny subject this time and adopted a more playful and fun style. I usually am a serious, brooding person... but the truth is that my humorous part is a side of myself which does exist, but doesn't come to surface very often. Only a few people who know me well can see it.

I didn't use any type of ink or paste, nor did I use any stamps.  The white splatters on the background paper are printed.  I chose 7 Dots studio Messy Head collection's "Big Words" paper for my background (you can see it here) and some die-cuts, of course, for my layered cluster.

I hid 4 tags with my journalling in my page.  They are resting under my layers of papers and embellies.  In order for them to be revealed, they must be pulled.  You will see them in the following photos.

First of all, a photo where you CAN'T see the tags:

And now you will see WHERE my tags are hidden and HOW they are pulled and brought to light:

They are laid under the white gauge
(if you take a closer look, you will discover their white threads)

and here they are
(1)

(2)

(3)

The last tag is at the bottom of the cluster

under the title

right here

So... this is my page. I hope you like it!!

Thanks for visiting!
