A blog hop with a difference

Hello everyone!
This is a different post.
It is about talking on myself and the people who inspire me.
Since I don't like talking on myself very much unless it's absolutely necessary, this idea is not mine.
(hmmm... as I think about it, my blog's subtitle must change I guess- it doesn't respond to reality, at least its first part).

Kay Fatula, a wonderful person and scrapper, emailed me telling me about this "different" blog hop.
I can't believe that my work inspires her - this is an HONOUR (thank you so much, Kay)!

Ok let me answer a couple of questions first:

What are my fave things I love to create with at the moment?

This is an easy one. 3 things: Mists, Pastes & Stamps. Isn't it obvious? lol

How do I become inspired and stay inspired?

This is not an easy one.
Inspiration is something that comes and goes in my life. There are times when my hands look for trouble (a creative one) and then you can find me with dirty, inked, gessoed hands even at work (my colleagues must have a horrible idea of my neatness).  But there are also times when I just don't know what to do with my scrap stash. There are days that I don't even want to look at them!  So my inspiration fluctuates.  The things that tickle my mojo are photos I see at Pinterest, challenges and creative people!

How long does it take to create a project?

I would say that it usually takes a couple of hours. When my inspiration is high, a page is born very easily.  And I get the most fun out of the procedure.  When I face days of inspirational drought or my mood is bad, I don't bother to start anything, because I know that the papers will end up in the garbage bin.  And I don't want that.

What are my keywords?

Elegance, harmony & balance.
When creating, I always aim at achieving all three of them in my projects. And I want them to be the key-elements of my style.

Enough about me. I will talk about 3 Greek girls, whose work and/or personality inspires me (in no particular order) and why so.

Evdokia Papadopoulou

I have known Evdokia for over 10 years. She is actually the reason I discovered scrapbooking back in 2008, when she gave me a handmade birthday card for my newborn daughter. She has a cheerful, kind, warm-hearted personality that is reflected on her projects. She shifts between mini-albums, layouts, cards and projects easily, which is something I admire very much. The most important trait I find in her creations is originality. She has developed her own style and stuck with that, without getting carried away by the latest industry trends.

Athanasia has a creating style that is very close to my heart. She combines stamps with bits'n'pieces in her pages and knows how to make a balanced page as far as design and colours are concerned. As a lover of harmony and balance, I truly appreciate them when I see them. Athanasia's work has lots of them! I recently got to know her in person as well. She is a beautiful girl with passion and energy!

Valia is truly a Prima Girl (I hope one day she will become a part of the Prima DT). Her love of flowers is amazingly combined with her love of  her 2 lovely sons (I just don't know how she makes it!) in her layouts! I always admire how thoroughly she examines every detail of her pages and she even dedicates days to achieve the result she desires!  She has an eye for perfection and she won't mind spending hours to complete a project the way she wants!

Thanks for stopping by & I hope you enjoyed learning a bit more about me & that you discover new inspiration by visiting these three ladies.

Fly high

After a wonderful week out of town, along with awesome company and friends, I'm back at home.
I have a brand new page to share with you today.  It's a layout created with 13 Arts products!
I had a blast creating this page, as I used the wonderful Ayeeda Pastel Mists in my favourite colours (teal, mint, lime & blue) as well as some mixed media techniques. I just love messing up with colours!

So this page is all about not allowing our fears to hinder us from flying (in any form lol).

As you see, I combined several mists, paints & gesso to create my textured background!

I highlighted the background with the use of stamps.

Take your time - 13 Arts July challenge

Hello everyone!!!

Here I am today with the brand new challenge of 13 Arts!
It's Aida who hosts the challenge this month!
Now what we have to do is

use this brilliant sketch & 2 mediums

Our project must contain at least ONE BUTTERFLY in it, in any form -as background, embellishment, stamp etc!

So this is my take on the challenge
(I decided for a lighter, not-too-loaded page, to accent the use of stamps and of the mediums)

13 Arts products used:

So I hope you like my page!!! Take the time to visit the projects of the rest of the DT, all of them are gorgeous!

Have a nice day!

Hello again!

Today I'm re-introducing myself at the 7 Dots Studio blog...
And I feel that I have to thank Tusia for this 3rd term at the 7 Dots DT!  Thank you so much, sweet Tusia, for this chance!

Now let's talk about friendship...
It's always so beautiful, although rare, to have people in your work who are your friends, also. The time you spend at work becomes easier and more pleasant. With this layout I want to celebrate my friendship with one of my colleagues, Joanna... Lots and lots and lots of layering and mixed media here, as well as a bold and busy background (from the "9th Wave collection, what else?).  Stamps are an important part of it, adding the touch of black for contrast. As you see, having a background paper like the 9th Wave-Stormy Sea is enough for not using any other paper in a layout.  That's why I love this collection. It is half of the work itself!

some details

I love this Word Circle of 2 Crafty Chipboard newest collection!!!
I gessoed it and inked it with beige chalk ink!
I have also used the Corner Elegant Set, in the left and right side of my cluster, which I stamped and painted it with some gesso, as well!

That's all from me now!
Hope you have a great weekend!
I'll be back soon!
