Me at 35

Today I would like to share with you a new page I made just experimenting.
Ok now I have to say that I don't like taking risks and facing upleasant surprises in general.
This is the story behind the page you're about to see:

A very talented scrapper that I admire is Georgia Heald. I visit her blog from time to time, because I find her style really classy (which is enough to inspire me). So just the other day I read in her blog that she experiments a lot and experimenting is what she recommends all new (ok I'm not new) scrapbookers do, in order for them to find their own individual style.

So today I decided to get out of my comfort zone and experiment.  I mainly used distress stains and washi tapes.  Some ribbon and some stickers, as well.  The patterned paper is from BG's Soleil collection (you can find it at the Memories Trend's store).

My layout is a bit different than my previous ones.  It's different because it's not as "clean" as my usual pages are.  It's a little bit messy, as far as colours and embellies are concerned... The colour combo is very strong, also (but I love love love fuschia, purple and red all mixed up).  It just happened that the sketch I used is from Georgia's challenge blog Paper Stories and is created by another talented scrapper, Emma Stafrace.

I think I stayed pretty close to the sketch, the only element I didn't incorporate was the banners. And I used only one photo.  I hope you like it!

Hello, hello!
I would like to thank everyone who remembered me on my birthday yesterday! I truly appreciate your taking time to leave some love at my FB page and your warm wishes. They all mean a lot to me. :)

Now let's talk about the new challenge that is announced already at the Once Upon A Sketch!
I really fancied the theme of the challenge as it talks about the best day of our lives.  The first thing that came to my mind was the births of my children, but that makes for 2 days actually, so I chose my wedding day, nearly 11 years ago.

Theme:  Best day of your life

The best day of your life!!!!! Everyone has at least one or two! Tell us anything that you can relate this title to. 

Ideas for journalling: child's birth, wedding day, anniversary, meeting someone special, buying a new home, changing jobs, a holiday, a special celebration.. there is no right or wrong. Its YOUR day!

Your layout must incorporate this theme and the sketch below. 

The deadline for this challenge is midnight, April 25th 2013 (Australian Eastern Standard Time) .

Please make sure that we see some sort of journalling on your layouts and please tell us where your journalling is . You are allowed to journal in any language but please tell us where on your page we will find your journalling. Remember journalling has to be a bit more than a title, or a generic comment. Hidden journalling is perfectly fine.

I played with my strings, mists and masks (again)! I couldn't resist at adding some flowers and of course making my title with the wonderful Imaginarium Designs chipboard!  It's obvious that I rotated the sketch clockwise...

Πήγαινα να γράψω "καλημέρα", αλλά συνειδητοποίησα ότι είναι ήδη 1.
Μεσημέριασε κιόλας...;!
Πόσο γρήγορα περνάει η ώρα όταν δημιουργεί κανείς!

Νοστάλγησα τα παλιά μου λημέρια... το Get Creative, δηλαδή.
Κι αποφάσισα να πάρω μέρος στην πρώτη πρόκληση Μαρτίου.
Θέμα: Scraplift a member of the DT or one of the Guest Designers.
Το πρόβλημα ήταν ΠΟΙΑ σύνθεση να πρωτοδιαλέξω, επειδή όλες είναι εξαιρετικές!

Τελικά κατέληξα στη σύνθεση της Βάλιας Κατζάκη - η οποία εκτός του ότι είναι φανταστική και πολύ αριστοκρατική, μου έκανε κλικ επειδή με προκάλεσε να την εξελίξω προς το δικό μου στυλ.

Μερικές διευκρινίσεις:

1ον. Πρώτα από ολα αντέγραψα το στήσιμο, μόνο που γύρισα την κεντρική οριζόντια γραμμή κάθετα.

Επίσης τις 2 από τις 3 φωτογραφίες τις αντικατέστησα με doilies και σκοινί, αφήνοντας μόνο μια φωτό στη δική μου σύνθεση.  Βεβαια ανάπτυξα λίγο το cluster, αφήνοντας λουλούδια να ξεφεύγουν από αυτό (κάτι που μου αρέσει πολύ να κάνω, όπως θα έχετε παρατηρήσει, γενικά).

2ον. Κράτησα τον χρωματικό συνδυασμό ως βάση, προσθέτοντας πορτοκαλί και φούξια επειδή είμαι κορίτσι των αντιθέσεων και το καφέ είναι το χρώμα που μου αρέσει λιγότερο από όλα τα άλλα. 

3ον. Έβαλα και chipboard και λουλούδια, φυσικά! 

4ον. Ήμουν αρκετά φειδωλή με τα mists, επειδή η σύνθεση της Βάλιας είναι καθαρή. Εδώ ομολογώ ότι κρατήθηκα με δυσκολία!
