Break free - a canvas

Hello my friends!
Today I want to show you a canvas I made.
When it comes to these little art pieces, I feel that I'm just a beginner so I thought to get some experience by practice (practice is ALWAYS a good idea!).

I happened to see a lovely Mixed Media Place moodboard the other day and it became my starting point.  I got inspired by the butterfly of the top left photo and the softness of the moodboard in general. As the message of my canvas is "break free" (which means that it needs to have an airy feel), I tried to give motion to the creation by making a light blue trail on the right - like a soft breeze that blows on the cluster from the left and takes everything with it.

I think I could do better than this, but as I said, experience is achieved by constant practice.  

Now that I'm examining it more thoroughly, I believe that I should correct a few details. 

But I'm ok with it, as it is!

2 scoops of ice-cream

Good morning...
Here I am again to share a page I created today for the More than Words March challenge.
A really messy one. I mixed up a lot of different media (gesso, mists, a pencil, glitter) and my hands got dirty - actually they have several patches of brown, teal and green inks.

I chose to talk about little pleasures in life that can be very blissful :).
One of them is mocha ice-cream.  I just adore it. Whenever I have some, I feel like I'm in heaven! I love the flavours of coffee and chocolate together! So 2 scoops of mocha ice-cream are just a little bit of magic for me...

I pulled my elements and paper from the 7 Dots Studio Thoughtskeeper Collection which I mainly combined with a modern photo as well as with lots of 13 Arts white gesso.  I always use this one instead of modelling paste, it works better for me, as it's thick and steady.  So I put some on my title and then added gold glitter on it. I also used it with 2 stencils for extra texture.

Like I already said, I was inspired by the More than Words March challenge.

Coffee time

Good morning everyone!
It's been almost 2 months since my last post here.
I didn't mean it to happen, but life is always unpredictable.


The reality in everyday life here in Greece has been even tougher the last 3-4 months, for the Greek people as well as the refugees that are stuck/locked/stranded here.  The countries that create the mess in these people's homelands just refuse to give shelter/accept/take care of them- how responsible is this, eh?  I could say a lot more on this subject but we all KNOW what's going on.

I need to say, though, that I'm very proud that most of my fellow Greeks, despite their hard economic problems and their struggle to survive, HELP the refugees by providing food, clothes, toys and play for the kids, medicines. I expected nothing less than that from them. It's just majestic.  I know that some of the refugees are going to be sent/distributed in my island soon, so I'm looking forward to helping them alongside with the other citizens of Greece.

So yesterday, in order to distract myself a bit from all these hard situations, I scrapped.
I made a colorful and playful page, having focused on this special time of the day, when we all sit and have COFFEE (with some delicious croissants, from time to time)! For me, that time is after I wake up.  Coffee is pure bliss, don't you agree?

So this is my layout

As you probably already noticed, I avoided layering and overloading.  This is something I intend to do even more in my next layouts. So the most prominent feature here is the word stickers.  And because I am a 7 Dots Studio girl, I worked with the Verano Azul Collection again. :)

I used the far right vertical combination Patterned Paper/Die-cuts/Flowers.  Apart from those, it's evident that I used some mists and chipboard, too.

Dreamer

Hello hello!
Here I am again... today it seemed like a good day to play with a challenge.
So I browsed through my challenge blogs list and I noticed that More than Words January main challenge has a very interesting one.  Its theme is Personality & Selfie.

I happened to have one selfie that I took one and a half year ago, so I thought "why not".
It's not easy at all to illustrate one's personality in just one layout, therefore I decided to focus on just one aspect of my profile.

I am a dreamer. I dream to excel at many things. I'm never satisfied with my achievements, my knowledge, myself. I dream to become more than I am everyday.  Frankly I don't know how realistic all these are, I guess I'm a bit nuts lol.

Anyway I tried to create a page wherein someone could see this trait of mine in a vintage, classic, dark, not too bold, but full of small details style. Again, I aimed at grace, harmony, balance and elegance (of course the latter is not news, I always want that in my creations).

I used the 7 Dots Studio "Lost & Found" collection.  And 13 Arts media.

I think it's time for me to experiment with a more modern style in my layout.  I hope (or shall I say dream?) I will manage to make a clean & simple, modern page soon.

Today I enjoy the honour to be a guest designer at the awesome Bumaga-Maraka blog!!  I created a page with the current moodboard, which is JUST FABULOUS!

When I saw the moodboard, I was totally fascinated by it, because I am mainly a glitter-girl and this moodboard is full of gold! So it gave me the opportunity to work with golden flakes, gold mica powder and create much of texture on my page.  I was inspired by golden patterns of the down right photo, as well as the sparkling overall effect of the moodboard.

Betrayal breaks the wings of trust

Hello everyone!

Today I'm coming back to you with a layout for KafeScrapoMama "Wings" Challenge, where I have the honour to be a Guest Designer. I'm always very happy to take part in the KafeScrapoMama's Challenges, because first of all, they are always very interesting and second, a true friend, Nadyunya Bilovodenko, is the heart of the blog.   When she asked me to be a guest designer for a second time (following a win of mine in a recent challenge), I just couldn't say no! THANK YOU, Nadyunya, for everything.

 

So the challenge has to do with WINGS and the idea derived from the movie "Maleficent". I don't know how many of you have watched the movie, it talks about trust, betrayal and ultimately, forgiveness. I hadn't seen the movie and this challenge was a good opportunity for me to do so.

Inspired by the black that dominates the photo of the challenge, I decided to make a mostly B&W page, which is something I haven't done in the past. When finishing my page, I added some purple, because I just couldn't do without colour!! The sequins I put was an element that I use for a first time in such an amount and was something that I liked very much in FrauMuller's pages (thank you, Natalya, for the inspiration)!

Good morning...

It has a different style than my previous ones, more modern, I guess.

Always enjoy the beauty of the moment

Hello everyone!
Time does pass by very quickly and I find myself making my last post as a Resident Guest Designer at 2 Crafty Chipboard!  I had a wonderful time playing and designing my pages with these amazing chippies and I need to thank Vanessa Tiberti & Di Garling for having me in this dream team!  So today I will share with you a page that I totally based upon the following chipboard:

To make this layout, I was inspired by the Scrapki-Wyswaniowo May Challenge, which is all about BUBBLES!!  I used a lovely 13 Arts paper, as well as my new favourite 13 Arts stencil.  Also, all the media (pastes, inks and glitter) are from 13 Arts of course!

"My inspiration came just from the photo of these tall trees and the path through them, that usually marks the beginning of an adventure. I have mainly used the Destination Unknown tags, element & word stickers!  I also incorporated some bamboo sticks, to imitate the tree trunks, placing them right behind my photo".

Λοιπον μερικά λόγια για τη σελίδα!

Πριν κάποιο καιρό έβλεπα ένα βίντεο της Athanasia Papantoniou για το ScrapsnPieces, στο οποίο έδειχνε κάποιες πολύ όμορφες τεχνικές χρήσης των νερομπογιών, που πραγματικά με ενθουσίασαν.  Κι έτσι, όταν έφτιαχνα αυτή τη σύνθεση, δοκίμασα την αρχική τεχνική που έδειχνε για το background μου και πολύ το ευχαριστήθηκα!  Επίσης χρησιμοποίησα κατι απομεινάρια από chipboard που είχα ως βάση για να "στήσω" τα υπόλοιπα στοιχεία πάνω στη σελίδα.

Βεβαια στην πορεία έφερα τη σύνθεση στα δικά μου μέτρα, με τις απαραίτητες γραμμές, το γκλίτερ, το cluster και τα stencils μου!!  Εβαλα και κατι μπαμπού καλαμάκια ως απομίμηση των κορμών των δέντρων, για ένα πιο natural look!

Λοιπόν, τρέχω να προλάβω να πάω στη δουλειά! Φιλιά πολλά και θα τα πούμε σύντομα... για μια "μάχη" μεταξύ εμού της ιδίας και μιας φανταστικής ταλαντούχας σκράπερ!  ;)  Stay tuned!

A little dreamer for 7 Dots Studio

Here I am again today to show you a page that I did using the 7 Dots Studio Destination Unknown. This Collection has gotten into my heart, as its theme and colours in the shades of water are some of my most favourite points of inspiration.

I loved working on this page, which I wanted to be soft, tender and dreamy... Also I have used the UWS flying birds stencil, in order to give an aethereal feeling to the the page.  And because I'm a glitter-girl, I couldn't do without my fine, transparent glitter, that holds everything together. Some detailed photos of my page you can find at the 7 Dots Studio blog!

While creating this page, I had in mind Kiev Skrapklub #8 Challenge,

which asked to create a simulation of dew in our project. I tried to add that dew-like feeling in my page by adding glitter and microbeads on several parts of my embellishments, as well as small transparent crystals (that look like water drops)!


I also used this wonderful Бумага-Марака sketch (I replaced the 3 photos with one and brought the elements of my cluster closer)

The Mixed Media Monthly May challenge required to use flowers in our project, so apart from using flowers in my page, I also dismantled my big teal flower and made some of its petals float away from it.

My first canvas - 13 Arts last project

Hello!

Today I would like to show my first canvas.  It happens to be my last project, as a 13 Arts DT member.  I can't say how sad I am for leaving the 13 Arts family, but being really tired and stressed, this step-down was much needed. It was made to be given as a gift to a very beautiful lady, whom I admire and am grateful to. She has given me a big opportunity, by accepting me in her DT. I'm talking about the ultra-talented, lovely Aida Domiciewicz!!

The canvas was meant to be dramatic, vibrant, bold and strong, just like the lovely person whom the it is already sent to.  More detailed photos you can find at the 13 Arts blog.  The colour combo I chose was purple-gold-brown-lilac. The canvas contains some purple flowers, just as the following KafeScrapoMama challenge requires!

Bloom where you are planted - Berry71Bleu GDT

Καλημέρα!  Η άνοιξη έχει μπει πλέον για τα καλά εδώ, ζούμε ηλιόλουστες μέρες, λουλούδια, μελισσούλες και όλα τα παρελκόμενα, γι' αυτό σήμερα θα μοιραστώ μαζί σας μια σύνθεση που έφτιαξα ως Guest Designer του Berry71Bleu, η οποία έχει να κάνει με την άνοιξη.

Το moodboard που μου δόθηκε είναι απίθανο, γεμάτο χρώματα και φως, λουλούδια, φύση.
Αυτό που μου ήρθε ως ιδέα ήταν να φτιάξω υφές σαν αυτές που βλέπουμε όταν βγαίνουμε σε ένα χωράφι ή ένα λιβάδι το Πάσχα σε μια εκδρομή! Ελπίζω να το πέτυχα!

Peace, love and joy - 13 Arts April Challenge

Hello, hello!

It's Saturday before Easter today here in Greece (we celebrate it a week after the Catholic Passover) and 

I would like to wish "Happy Easter" to all those who will celebrate tomorrow!

It also happens to be the day when the 13 Arts April Challenge is revealed!  The host of this one is the fabulous Ingrid Gooyer and

it's all about our favourite colour!!!!

Ok when I saw the colour, turquoise/teal came to my mind, but it appeared that a few people of the DT had chosen the same colour, so for this challenge I picked my 2nd fave:

Be still & listen

I find myself busier than ever before lately.

And at the same time, less patient, more tired, less inspired, more in need of .... vacation.
I think that I have loaded my soul and mind with so many activities and stressful situations that they have started to complain in their own way. Scrapbooking commitments, choir rehearsals, gym sessions, airport sets of shifts, Mom's & housekeeper's duties and yes, I don't know how I keep on being sane.

Fortunately, there's always something that just makes life lighter for me.
And it is music.

It is music then that my following page (created especially for 7 Dots Studio) talks about.

Whenever I'm creating, there's always some classical music sounding around me. For me, it is a huge of inspiration and there are moments when I just stop and get carried away by the tune I'm listening (usually some Russian composer's music).

As for the creative part of my page, I consciously tried to keep my embellishments in low quantities, avoid my usual layering and focus on the stamps and my ink splatters.

The collection I used is the "Nature Walk". Of course. The white paint is 13 Arts Splash! Ink! The same goes for the Silver Hologram Glitter!

Since the colour combo of my page is white & sand, I'm entering the White With 1 April Challenge!

Μια σελίδα για το αγαπημένο 13 Arts σήμερα...
Η οποία μιλάει για την ανάγκη να κατανοήσουμε (κι εγώ πρώτη) την σημασία του να ζούμε κάθε στιγμή της ζωής όσο περισσότερο γίνεται. Εγώ προσωπικά τείνω να στεναχωριέμαι υπερβολικά, θα έλεγα, όταν τα πράγματα δεν πάνε όπως θα ήθελα ή όταν δεν είμαι αντάξια των προσδοκιών μου ή όταν κάνω λάθος. Πολύ αυστηρή κριτής του εαυτού μου.
Κι όμως αυτό δεν είναι σωστό, επειδή απλά περνάει ο χρόνος και εγώ το μόνο που έχω αποκομίσει είναι να ... λυπάμαι για διάφορα πράγματα, που δεν μπορώ να αλλάξω (επειδή αν μπορούσα, θα το έκανα άμεσα). Έτσι προσπαθώ να υπενθυμίζω στον εαυτό μου ότι δεν έχουν τόσο σημασία οι επιδόσεις μου στη ζωή, όσο το να απολαμβάνω την ίδια τη ζωή. Κι ο χρόνος περνάει....

Hello everyone! Today I would like to share with you my page  for Scrap Around The World March Challenge, in which, being a DT member of 2 Crafty, I had the honour to contribute as a guest Designer!
The lovely moodboard is a totally modern, graphic-design-oriented beauty! So I tried to stick close to its style and produced a modern page, pretty outside of my comfort zone.  As you will notice,  there is not a single flower in my layout! (Unbelievable, eh?)
